About the Institute

Established to represent, connect, and strengthen the Forex and CFD industry in The Bahamas.

As the Forex and CFD sector in The Bahamas has grown, so has the need for an organised, credible industry voice.

 

BIFCI was established to fill that role bringing licensed firms together under a common framework of standards, engagement, and accountability.

The Institute was founded by three leading firms in the sector: Pepperstone, Capital.com, and Trade Nation. Their founding commitment reflects a shared belief that a well-governed industry is one that earns the trust of clients and regulators alike.

Mission Statement

BIFCI exists to represent licensed Forex and CFD issuers in The Bahamas, promote transparency and responsible business practices, and support a strong compliance culture across the industry.
 

We serve as a bridge between our member firms and the broader regulatory and stakeholder environment providing a collective platform for dialogue, advocacy, and continuous improvement.

BIFCI is governed by an Executive Committee made up of representatives from its member firms. The Committee oversees the strategic direction of the Institute and ensures it operates in accordance with its founding principles.

Committee Size

Minimum 3, maximum 7 members

Initial Membership

The three firms that sign the Institute's founding documents

Nomination

Each new BIFCI member may nominate one representative until all 7 positions are filled

Elections

Once membership exceeds 7 firms, all positions are vacated at the next AGM and filled by member vote

Membership Decisions

Made by a separate Membership Committee, appointed by the Executive Committee

Appeals

Members and applicants may appeal Membership Committee decisions to the Executive Committee

Our Role

Engaging Industry and Regulators

BIFCI engages actively with regulators, industry bodies, and key stakeholders in The Bahamas financial sector.

 

Through structured dialogue and collaborative initiatives, the Institute works to support the development of a well-regulated and internationally respected Forex and CFD market.

Our members benefit from a shared platform for advocacy, peer engagement, and access to industry developments as the sector continues to evolve.
